Adding files with drag and drop upload

Drag and drop upload is useful to select multiple files at one time from your computer to upload.

To add files with drag and drop upload:

  1. Run the Upload file or Add files command as described in Adding files to documents. The Put file to document page appears.
  2. If Drag and drop upload does not appear in bold text in the section header, click Drag and drop upload.
  3. Drag files from their location on your computer and drop them into the file list. A new line appears in the upload queue for each file added.

To select a file with a file browser dialog, click Add file. Repeat to add more files.

To remove files from the upload queue, select the files in the list and click Remove file(s).

  1. To keep the files locked after they are uploaded, select Keep file locked after save.
  2. Click Save to this version. The upper progress bar shows the file transfer progress of each file in the upload queue. The lower progress bar shows the overall progress of transferring all files in the upload queue. When the upload has completed, the parent document's property page appears.

Note    File uploads will time out after a configurable length of time. If you need to upload large files over a slow connection without causing timeouts, consult your system administrator.

You can make Drag and drop upload your default upload method by setting the Default upload type option described in Configuring user interface settings. For information about using the Classic upload method, see Adding files with classic upload.
